Night Rating (A) Training course

The aim of the course is is to qualify the applicant for the issue of night rating for aeroplanes in accordance with the requirements of Part-FCL to be able to exercise PPL(A) privileges in VFR conditions at night.

Course requirements

The applicant shall meet the following requirements to be eligible for enrollment:

- hold current PPL(A),

- hold current at least Class 2 medical in accordance with MED.A.030 (a), (c) and (e),

To apply for NR(A) the applicant shall fill in the NR(A) Student Application formand provide all the information and document copies as indicated.

Course description

The NR(A) consists of two parts:

- theoretical knowledge instructions,

- flight instruction.

The NR(A) theoretical knowledge instruction lasts for 2 hours and is organized individually as a long briefing at least one day prior to the flying.

The minimum flight instruction time for NR(A) is 5 hours of flight time in appropriate aircraft category at night, including:

- at least 3 hours of dual instruction, including at least 1 hour of cross-country navigation with at least one dual cross-country flight of at least 50 km (27 NM),

- 5 solo take-offs and 5 solo full-stop landings.

Applicants shall have completed a training course within a period of up to 6 months.
